High Performance Computing

NKN does not offer High Performance Computing (HPC) services.  There are, however, two local/regional options for accessing HPC services.

IBEST Computational Resources Core (University of Idaho)

IBEST CRCThe IBEST Computational Resources Core (CRC) serves as the computational backbone of evolutionary and computational biology research at the University of Idaho. It provides investigators with state of the art high performance computing and large data storage capacity for use in analyzing and managing large volumes of research data.

Idaho National Laboratory (INL)

INL HPCINL's High-Performance Computing (HPC) resources provide scientific computing capabilities to support the lab's efforts in advanced modeling and simulation. The HPC data center supports a wide range of research activities, including performance of materials in harsh environments (including the effects of irradiation and high temperatures), modeling of geomechanical changes in subsurface flow, performance of advanced gas-cooled nuclear reactors, and multiscale analysis of nuclear fuel performance.

In order to access the INL clusters, you will first need to request a sponsored account at INL.

General information   HPC Account Request

For account requests:

  • Select "HPC" for Application Type.
  • INL Sponsor for all University of Idaho account requests should be "Eric Whiting".
  • Fill in the rest of the information as necessary.
